Oakley's sales of optical products grew by 11 percent in the first quarter worldwide, with particularly strong progress in the buoyant North American market. The brand has just opened a store in Times Square in New York, which is visited by an estimated 26 million people each year. The store features an “Oakley Custom Bar” where customers can create their own versions of Oakley eyewear and goggles, personalizing their designs with an on-site etching and engraving machine. The outlet also carries a full selection of Oakley golf apparel and footwear.
