Ochsner Sport, the Swiss-based subsidiary of Deichmann specializing in sports retailing, will take over Sport Sperk, a German chain of 13 sporting goods stores based in Bavaria, with effect from Jan. 1, provided it gets regulatory approval. The stores include a factory outlet and a bike shop, and six of them are located in Bavaria. The business will be gradually integrated, using a maximum of synergies. Ochsner is already Switzerland's leading retail chain in the sporting goods sector, and it already opened its first German store in Neu-Ulm last spring.
