RTIH reports that Swiss sporting goods brand On has chosen Durch company Nedap to deploy its iD Cloud platform in factories, warehouses, distributors and stores worldwide. This allows On to track and trace every single item from source to consumer.
On was already familiar with the technology and benefits of RFID. RFID uses radio waves to wirelessly identify and track objects, enabling efficient data collection and real-time monitoring, which is particularly beneficial in use cases such as supply chain management. Now, the company decided to run a pilot program in collaboration with Nedap to test iD Cloud.
“We have begun implementing RFID across our supply chain, enhancing accuracy in lead time data and optimizing inbound and outbound processes,” Craig Foster, Head of Technology at On, told RTIH. He added that it gives the company valuable insight into shipment expectations, origin, and distribution channels, which supports On’s commitment to delivering an exceptional brand experience while working more efficiently and sustainably. “Choosing iD Cloud technology is a part of our long-term plan, providing end-to-end coverage and scalability.”
