Named “re-color,” a new textile capsule launched by materials specialist Pangaia is premiering colors extracted from textile waste. Utilizing new technologies from different industries, Pangaia is working towards full circularity. The dyeing technology for the re-color capsule makes use of clothing unsuitable for fiber recycling, offering the possibility to integrate unrecyclable waste textiles into the process. The technical partner for color recycling is the Italian company Officina+39, which has developed a patented process that is not shared in detail. As by now, the technology only results in paler shades; the new textile collection is held in different pastel colors.
