Participants in the general meetings of Norspo AS and Sporskjedene AS unanimously decided that the Norwegian sporting goods organization they owned on a 50-50 basis, Sportsbransjen, will change from a private corporation to an association, funded with members' fees. Sporskjedene groups the seven major Norwegian sports retail chains. Norspo, which is owned by around 70 suppliers, will also take over direct responsibility of the Norspo trade fair, which is organized twice a year outside Oslo. The reason for the change of statutes is that Sportsbransjen has been struggling with falling revenues from the Norspo trade fair as well as lower advertising revenues from its trade publication, Sport, which will continue to be published by Sportsbransjen.
