Pentland Brands, a division of Pentland Group, has announced a series of executive appointments with a view to accelerate its international growth. Pentland Brands is the name behind Speedo, Berghaus, Ellesse, Canterbury of New Zealand and other sports and fashion brands. The changes involve new and extended responsibilities for Matt Rock and Carl Davies. In addition, the roles of global president of the active division and global group marketing director have been removed.

Matt Rock, the current global supply chain director, has been named president of Asia-Pacific. Rock will also retain his supply chain responsibilities. Davies, currently global customer director, has been appointed president of U.K., Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and the Americas.

The company said the new structure is also designed to give brand directors a more direct role in leading brand growth. The Speedo, Mitre and Canterbury brands will now be reporting to Davies, while the Berghaus brand will be reporting to Chirag Patel, Pentland Brands' chief operating officer.

As part of its plan, Pentland has also announced that it is removing the role of global president of the active division, currently held by Chris Stephenson, and the role of global group marketing director, currently held by Sean Hastings. Both are leaving the company.

Pentland Brands' new executive team consists of: Andy Long, chief executive; Chirag Patel, chief operating officer; Katrina Wright, chief human resources officer; Mandy Venters, interim chief financial officer; Carl Davies, president for EMEA & Americas; Matt Rock, president of Asia-Pacific; and Richard Newcombe, president of the footwear division.
