Pentland Brands is relaunching Ellesse in the U.S. through its own subsidiary, headed up by Robert Dundon since last March, starting with limited releases of shoes and clothing at Foot Locker, Urban Outfitters and other selected retailers. The Italian vintage brand of sports apparel, which is enjoying strong momentum, has also ended its French licensing agreement with the Go Sport group to broaden its distribution and extend it to the fashion sector. The brand will be distributed in France by The Lifestyle Company, which also markets the brands Barbour, Ben Sherman and Fred Perry, among others. The changes follow the recent appointment of a new brand director for Ellesse, Simon Breckon.
