Andrés de la Dehesa has won another four years as President of Afydad - Spain Is Sport, the Spanish sport association, according to Diffusion Sport. This is his third consecutive term, and the third time he has stood for election unopposed, after 2018 and 2022. His predecessor, Xavier Berneda, held the post for eight years.
Diego Hidalgo, CEO of Trangoworld, will be serving as First Vice President and Gorka Iglesias, CEO of SDI Sportfloor & Equipment, as Second Vice President. The rest of the board is to be announced at Afydad’s next Assembly, scheduled for June 11.
De la Dehesa was for 11 years (1993-2004) Marketing Director of SportPanel, the consultancy that publishes Tradesport and Tradebike. He co-founded Gescode, which produces software for sports retailers, in 1994 and remains its CEO. He is the CEO also of Codesport, the company behind the Sportmas platform for real-time data sharing between brands and retailers. In addition, he sits on the board at the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (FESI).
