After more than 20 years at the post, Carlos Sánchez Broto is stepping down as CEO of the Spanish sporting-goods retailer he helped to found, now called Sports Emotion, and will become Chairman of the Board, as the company has announced on its LinkedIn account. The new CEO will be Carlos García Gracia, Chief Teamsales Officer for the past two years and eight months.

Sánchez Broto will be endeavoring as Chairman to generate growth, both through acquisitions and through organic expansion of the company’s three banners: Fútbol Emotion, Basketball Emotion and Running Emotion.

García Gracia spent 15 years with Adidas, most recently a seven-year stint as Senior Manager Sport Specialists. He has a law degree from the University of Zaragoza and an MBA from ESIC.
