IPD (International ProDesign), a surf-inspired apparel brand from Costa Mesa, has announced the appointment of Chris Kypriotis as a partner and its future CEO. Kypriotis is set to assume his new CEO role in 2025 following a transitional period, during which he will work closely with the current leadership to ensure a smooth handover and continue the brand’s legacy.
Kypriotis, a seasoned executive with over 30 years of global brand experience, will lead IPD into its next growth phase. His career includes leadership roles as Global Vice President at Nike Inc., President of Nike Brazil, Global Vice President at Billabong International Group and COO/President of Rusty Surfboards, as well as influential positions at Stussy and Mossimo.
This strategic addition reflects IPD’s ambition to strengthen its market presence and expand its footprint in the surf and lifestyle sector. Kypriotis’s extensive experience in the industry positions him well to drive the company’s future success and enhance its brand recognition.
“We are beyond excited to welcome Chris to the IPD family,” said Erik Ingersoll, IPD co-founder. ”His deep understanding of the retail landscape and consumer behavior across diverse markets will be instrumental in guiding IPD’s strategic direction and ensuring our growth is both robust and sustainable.” With Kypriotis’s leadership, the company aims to continue building on its heritage while innovating for the future, ensuring it remains a dominant player in the competitive surfwear market.
