Decathlon has announced a leadership realignment for its UK and Ireland businesses, appointing Elena Pecos as Chief Executive Officer and Romain Gravigny as Chief Operating Officer. The decision marks a formal integration of the two markets under one leadership team, with Pecos succeeding outgoing UK CEO Eric Mazillier.

Previously CEO of Decathlon Ireland, Pecos brings nearly 20 years of international experience across store management, finance, and sustainability roles in Spain, France, Chile and the company’s global circular economy team. Gravigny takes on the role of COO following his most recent position as CEO of Decathlon Australia. Over his two-decade career with the company, he has overseen operations in various markets. He will now be responsible for driving day-to-day performance and growth across the UK and Ireland.

The leadership transition coincides with a period of strong commercial results for both markets. In the UK, turnover rose 15 percent in the first half of 2025 following significant investments in store upgrades, digital platforms and warehouse automation. In Ireland, turnover increased by 20 percent, with the business expanding local partnerships and strengthening cultural engagement.

Decathlon also reported progress on its sustainability goals. In 2024, more than 110,000 circular services were delivered in the UK, and employee engagement reached 92 percent. In Ireland, circular economy services grew 85 percent, while social media outreach via TikTok surpassed 900,000 views.

Part of the global Decathlon Group, which operates 1,815 stores and generated €16.2 billion in 2024 revenue, the UK & Ireland division projects €460 million in turnover for 2025.
