The hiking and outdoor footwear brand Merrell, part of Wolverine Worldwide, has appointed Richard McLeod as its new Chief Marketing Officer. McLeod will report directly to Janice Tennant, Merrell’s Global Brand President, and oversee the company’s global marketing efforts, focusing on integrated strategies to strengthen Merrell’s presence in the outdoor active and lifestyle markets.
“Rich is widely recognized as a consumer-obsessed leader and builder of talent with a track record of growing brands through strong consumer demand creation and retail execution,” Tennant said. “Rich’s depth of experience will help position Merrell for long-term growth.”

McLeod brings over two decades of experience in senior leadership roles. Most recently, he served as Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Champion, where he focused on consumer insights, brand development and storytelling. Before Champion, McLeod was SVP of Brand at Canada Goose.
