Base Detall Sport will have a new General Manager, Teo Prat, as of Aug. 1. As the Spanish buying group’s President, Miquel Calzada, has told CMDsport, Prat will have an initial term of one year. “Once said term is over,” he said, “both parties will come together to decide on continuing the agreement.”
Prat has been working with the group for the past two months, offering his expertise in logistics. He will now replace Toni Maristany, who resigned as General Manager in December.
Prat entered the sporting goods market in 1992 when he became Managing Director of TKT Distribuciones, whose clients included LA Gear and Kneisel. He later served in the same capacity at Cidersport and Sport Concept. In 1996, with a colleague from Cidersport, Joan Matons, he founded the sports logistics company Lodepo. As CMD explains, in its heyday, this firm operated a facility of 14,000 square meters and had Desigual among its clients, but it fell on hard times and closed down in 2018. That same year, he became General Manager of Comercial Group. This post appears as current on Prat’s LinkedIn page, but his account shows little activity.
Prat has also served as Vice President of Spain’s Association of Sporting Goods Manufacturers (Afydad).
