On Holding AG announced that Sam Wenger, the company’s Chief Operating Officer, will step down at the end of 2025 after eight years in the role. Scott Maguire, currently serving as Chief Innovation Officer, will assume an expanded role as Chief Innovation and Operations Officer starting Jan. 1, 2026.
Wenger will remain with the Swiss-based company through the end of Q1 2026 to support the leadership transition. “We are grateful for Sam’s leadership during a key phase of On’s growth,” the company stated.
Maguire joined On in 2025 after serving as CEO of Specialized Bicycle Components and Group COO at Dyson. The leadership shift is intended to unify the company’s innovation and operations functions under a single executive, streamlining product development and supply chain efforts.
Strong demand for On Running
Founded in 2010 and backed by tennis star Roger Federer, On Running has gained market share in the US with product innovations, athlete endorsements and collaborations targeting younger consumers. In August, On raised its annual revenue forecast, citing strong demand and international growth, particularly in North America.
The executive move signals On’s intention to maintain momentum amid competitive pressure from larger rivals like Adidas and Nike. With Maguire’s background in both technical innovation and global operations, the company aims to scale its product offerings further and enhance its positioning in the performance and lifestyle footwear segments.
