
Sports retail alliance Sport 2000 GmbH, a subsidiary of Germany’s ANWR Group, has promoted Maria Sarter to Head of Marketing, following her initial appointment as Senior Brand Marketing Manager in November 2024. Sarter now leads the strategic marketing for the Sport 2000 brand as well as its specialist concepts Absolute Run and Absolute Teamsport, and oversees cooperation with brand partners and divisional trade marketing.
“Maria brings strategic vision, marketing expertise and leadership strength to the role,” said Margit Gosau, CEO of Sport 2000. “She adds a valuable female voice and fresh perspective to our senior management.”
Prior to joining Sport 2000, Sarter worked at agency Pioneers, focusing on retail and event project management, and previously held roles in online marketing and as a lecturer for Strategic Management at Mainz University.
Sport 2000 GmbH is active across seven countries, with 2,000 affiliated specialty retailers generating €4.04 billion in sales in 2024.
