H&M Move has collaborated with carbon capture company LanzaTech to create a clothing line made in part from captured emissions. In three simple steps, Illinois-based LanzaTech captures carbon emissions from steel mills, traps them in bioreactors and converts them into the same components used to make conventional polyester. This revolutionary solution helps reduce pollution and limits the use of new fossil resources needed to make new products. LanzaTech’s goal is to change the way the world uses carbon and enable a new circular economy where carbon is reused instead of wasted, the skies and oceans are kept clean, and pollution is a thing of the past.
H&M Move’s three-piece collection for women consists of a jumpsuit, a top and a pair of tights made in part from LanzaTech CarbonSmart™ polyester with DryMove™ finish, the latter being H&M’s proprietary material that wicks moisture away from the skin. The all-black garments with contrasting stitching draw on the contemporary athluxury movement. H&M Move’s LanzaTech line is available at hm.com/move.
