Moncler has released a set of digital outfits, known as gaming skins, and some accessories for the video game Fortnite, developed by Epic Games. Making their debut on Fortnite’s Item Shop on Nov. 20 – the evening of the present century’s longest lunar eclipse – the skins are patterned after real-world apparel: specifically, the new 6 Moncler 1017 Alyx 9SM collection, designed by Matthew Williams. The Moncler Classic Set includes the Andre and Renee outfits. The Umbra-tube Back Bling, the Umbra-Axe Pickaxe and the Para-Pluie Glider make up the accessories. The theme is the contrast between light and dark, two styles that players can switch between. Darkness increases with the changes in the player’s altitude in the game’s island setting. “Digital materials,” Williams points out, “do not follow the rules of the physical world, allowing us to be more creative with these new in-game reactive outfits.”
