Polar announced a groundbreaking move in the wearables industry, with the Finnish fitness software and product provider making its fitness algorithms available to partners. Polar has led the industry for nearly 50 years, maintaining a gold standard in heart rate measurement technology. Polar’s current professional solutions offered to partners provide a holistic and personalized understanding of users’ health, fitness and well-being in a 360° ecosystem that includes connected applications, services and products. In addition, thanks to the API (Application Programming Interface) and SDK (Software Development Kit), partners can make their own solutions compatible with Polar’s devices and technology. The new “Powered by Polar” offering provides 25 algorithms to choose from, validated by millions of users, covering sleep, training, wellness, activity, performance and recovery metrics. This means partners can expand their offerings based on years of research, science and testing with a turnkey product from Polar.
As the first result of making its algorithms available to partners, Polar has now announced a collaboration with Japanese watch brand Casio. As the first Powered by Polar product, the new Casio G-Shock G-Squad GBD-H2000 offers personalized training and recovery features to help users lead healthier lives. “We have seen a growing global interest from people to learn more about their bodies and health in recent years,” said Takashi Uema, head of Casio’s global marketing and planning division. We are delighted to collaborate with a pioneer like Polar to empower millions of Casio users worldwide with scientific and proven data.”
