Snauwaert saw the light of day in Belgium in 1928 and went under in the early 1990s, only to reemerge in 2020, after nearly 30 years of dormancy, in another land: Italy. The brand released its high-end, eponymous racquet, the “Snauwaert,” in the 1970s and followed it up in the next decade with a racquet of graphite called the Ergonom – whose materials were hardly the most remarkable thing about it.

Now, as CMDsport has reported, the brand is unearthing another model from the 1980s, the Hi-Ten, and using rather up-to-date means to do it.

Snauwaert has initiated a Kickstarter campaign. The crowdfunding goal is €150,000. As of this writing, there are 64 backers, having contributed a total of €11,144. The first 300 backers will receive a collector’s piece: a version of the new Hi-Ten with the same frame but a 1980s string pattern (12x16 instead of 16x19). There are other rewards tied to the contribution amount.

The brand produces racquets for both tennis and pádel.
