The North Face (TNF) has launched the Power Further VR and 360 Experience, designed to give everyone the opportunity to experience the trails of Mont Blanc despite pandemic restrictions, while also providing more detailed information about the development and functionality of its Vectiv technology. Available in VR and 360°, the experience takes viewers to the lab where Vectiv was developed and follows the runners Fernanda Maciel, world number three and four-time UTMB podium finisher, and James Poole, UTMB finisher and TNF Explorer Team member, in three chapters. The runners pass through six iconic Mont Blanc locations by day and by night, including Chamonix, Notre Dame, Lac Combal and La Flegere. These can be experienced in 360° as James and Fernanda talk about their motivation for running and discuss the new technology. Vectiv is TNF’s latest trail-focused footwear system, launched in January 2021 after two years of research and development and more than 6,000 miles of athlete testing. In the first year alone, runners using the technology set 17 fastest-known-times records in trail running, according to the brand.
