Under Armour is to beta-test a self-service version of the 3D foot scanners from Volumental in dedicated in-store, co-branded spaces. Designed for a shopper-led experience, the service will allow customers to take their own measurements and pinpoint the best-fitting model for their feet. A global rollout is planned for 2023 after the beta testing with Under Armour.
”Personalized recommendations create a more engaging customer experience, allow retailers to manage inventory in a much smarter way, and help solve the huge returns issue facing the industry,” said Alper Aydemir, CEO of Volumental. According to the brand, in-store 3D foot scanning improves customer satisfaction, drives up to 20 percent increases in footwear sales and reduces returns by 25 percent.
Based in Sweden, Volumental aims to help retailers connect consumers with the best-fitting footwear, increase customer satisfaction and reduce returns. Available for use across retail channels, the AI-powered Fit Engine matches individual 3D scans to purchase data from millions of feet in seconds.
