Protest Sportswear has displayed its green credentials by installing 10,000 solar panels on the roofs of the company's facilities in the home town of Randstad. Prompted by the local council's request for companies to adopt greener practice, the Dutch action sports firm has kitted out its CDR Vastgoed, Dekker Sport & Party Warmond and Dekker Zoetermeer buildings with enough solar panels to generate 2.5 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity per year. This is approximately equal to the yearly energy consumption of 600 households. The project, which went live on April 19, has taken nine months to be implemented. It covers 25,000 square meters of roof surface.
