Puma has announced a new five-year sponsorship deal with Al-Hilal FC, the football club based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, that competes in the Saudi Pro League (SPL). The agreement, which will debut in the 2023/24 season, has been described by the German sportswear company as a “groundbreaking new partnership set to transform football in Saudi Arabia.” Through this partnership, Al-Hilal will be the region’s first club with bespoke kit designs. The agreement is expected to involve initiatives and campaigns on and off the pitch. As part of the deal, both organizations will work together to provide long-term initiatives for Saudi youth, connect with local communities and create exclusive Puma product ranges. According to Spanish newspaper Sport and Saudi media, Al-Hilal will soon announce the signing of football star Lionel Messi, whose contract with PSG expires this summer. Last winter, Cristiano Ronaldo signed a two-year deal with Al-Nassr, another club that competes in the Saudi league.
