Puma France is preparing to invest several million euros to build an enlarged head office in Wacken, just across from the European Parliament in Strasbourg – and a short stroll away from the offices inaugurated by Adidas France a few weeks ago. Established in Illkirch-Graffenstaden, near Strasbourg, Puma France intends to start work in Wacken next year and to move into the new offices by 2020. They will be built on the current site of the Théâtre du Maillon, eventually spreading over four floors of about 1,000 square meters. The facilities will include a gym as well as small football pitch on the roof, and it will have sufficient space for about 120 Puma France head office employees. Adidas France was previously established in Landersheim, near Saverne. Launched by the rival Dassler brothers, Adidas and Puma still both have their international head offices in the small Franconian town of Herzogenaurach. Horst Dassler, son of Adi Dassler, and Gerd Dassler, younger son of Rudolf Dassler, both ran the French offices of their fathers' companies in the Alsace region, which formerly boasted many footwear manufacturing plants.
