Puma has teamed up with Gianmarco Tamberi, the world indoor and European high jump champion from Italy. Tamberi was described by the sports company as an athlete with a charismatic persona and a hustler style, aligned with Puma's brand identity. Hustler is the term that has been used by Puma executives in the last weeks as a type of personality for influencers working with the company. Tamberi broke through in 2015 when he twice broke the Italian record for high jumping, and his personal best is a jump of 2.39 meters. The partnership comes after Usain Bolt decided to quit racing, which made it more compelling for Puma to update its roster of track and field athletes. Other prominent athletes wearing Puma include the Canadian sprinter André de Grasse.
