Puma is buying its distributor and licensee in the Netherlands, Dobotex. It already owns a 50.1 percent stake in the Dutch company, and will buy the rest as of January 2012. The takeover is friendly and has the support of management at Dobotex. It also includes Dobologic, the logistics branch of the company. The acquisition will help the company expand in the market and operate more efficiently. Nina Nix, Puma's global director for accessories and licensing, will be the general manager of Dobotex, effective Jan. 1, replacing Jeroen van Dooren. Dobotex, based in s'Hertogenbosch, signed the first license agreement with Puma for socks in 1997. Puma took the majority share at the beginning of 2009.
