Puma says it has withdrawn its request for a preliminary injunction against the Adidas Group at the regional court of Braunschweig. The case related to the Stan Smith Boost by Adidas. Puma alleged that it infringed on one of its registered European designs, focusing on the midsole. Last week, the Braunschweig court said the case had been studied in oral proceedings for several hours, and its preliminary finding was that there was no infringement because there were significant differences between Puma's and Adidas' designs. Puma says it has withdrawn its request to prohibit the distribution of the Stan Smith Boost due to the court's concerns regarding the appearance of the Adidas shoe's midsole, but it still claims that the Adidas shoe “falls within the scope” of Puma's design.
