Rebel Sport, the New Zealand sports retailer owns by the Briscoe Group, posted revenues of NZD$46.2 million (€27.7m-$37.4m) for its stores in New Zealand in the fourth quarter ended Jan. 26, representing a 9.47 percent increase in comparable store sales. For the full year ended Jan. 26, sales reached NZD$156.8 million (€93.9m-$126.9m), representing a 6.27 percent increase on a comparable store basis. Online sales doubled. Rebel Sport stores in New Zealand average a retail space of around 17,500-square feet and offer a selection of apparel, footwear and gear for action, ball and team sports, as well as fitness and fishing. Briscoe Group franchises Rebel Sport from Super Retail Group (SRG), Australia's largest sporting goods retailer. Earlier this year, SRG reported sales at its Sports Division up 6.2 percent, with a 5.5 percent increase in comparable store sales, for the six months ended Dec. 28, 2013. Briscoe Group expects to report its full-year audited results on March 6.
