The newly launched venture capital fund Regeneration.VC, based in Los Angeles, has closed its $45 million inaugural fund. The company aims to support circular business models, as initially done with materials science company Pangaia, rental service Arrive or vegan hide producer VitroLabs. Regeneration.VC’s investment strategy encompasses design (materials and packaging), use (consumer brands and products), and reuse technologies (reverse logistics and marketplaces) that generate environmental impact alongside outsized return potential.
Regeneration.VC partners include a global group of institutional investors (Tribe Capital/Pay It Forward, Commenda EU, ImpactAssets, SDG Impact Fund), family companies and foundations (Cameron Holdings, For Good Ventures, Passport Foundation, MFI Foundation), founders and other individuals (Bill Peck/Twist Biosciences, Courtney Nichols Gould and Gordon Gould/SmartyPants, designer Jennifer Meyer, musician Martin Gore and athlete Mike Bryan). Actor and activist Leonardo DiCaprio is among the strategic advisors of the company.
