Research conducted by the European Outdoor Group (EOG) indicates that outdoor brands in Europe and North America utilize between 1,400 and 1,600 tons of duck and goose down annually, representing less than one percent of the global production of the feathers. Some 90 percent of it comes from China. Marc Held, secretary general of the EOG, argues that this limits the outdoor industry's ability to influence the supply chain, requiring a combined effort.
