Hamish Stewart, who has been working with Brooks Running for more than 20 years, has become U.K. country manager for True Motion, a German running shoe start-up. He will be assisted by another former running shoe veteran, Richard Outterside, as account manager. Stewart was instrumental in building up Brooks’ European business in the early 2000s, and he returned to Europe in 2014, after working again out of Seattle, to regionalize the company’s European operations. He served as director of Brooks’ Northern Territory from September 2018 to last January. As for Outterside, he started up at Brooks but then worked for Saucony for 25 years, most recently as country manager for the U.K. True Motion was founded in Münster, Germany in 2018 by André Kriwet, Gert-Peter Brüggemann and Christian Arens. Kriwet and Brüggemann had been working in product development and other functions with Nike, Brooks, Asics and other companies for many years. Kriwet spent six years with Asics, nine with Nike and nine with Brooks. True Motion says that more than 75,000 running enthusiasts have been benefiting from its “unique running experience.” Its shoes have been sold mainly in the German-speaking and Benelux countries so far.
