Google is opening its first permanent retail store this summer at the company’s Chelsea campus in New York City, which is already home to many of Google’s 11,000-plus NYC employees. Google has not announced a date for the opening. The store will sell a variety of products, from Pixel phones to Pixelbooks, Nest products and Fitbit devices, among others. Google completed the acquisition of Fitbit in January of this year, as reported in SGI Europe. Customers will be able to choose between in-store shopping and scheduled pick-up of their online orders. In addition to buying new products, customers will benefit from technical support for Google devices from on-site experts. The store will also organize workshop demonstrations for customers throughout the year.
