British sports fashion retailer JD Sports has secured itself a prime location in Munich for its largest German flagship store to date.

Now that the German sports chain SportScheck will soon have to give up its flagship store in Munich’s pedestrian zone in the city center (Neuhauser Straße) following the Signa disaster, JD Sports is planning to move into nearby premises formerly occupied by H&M in Kaufingerstraße. The store has around 2,700 square meters of retail space and will span three levels. It will be the second largest JD store in Europe after Oxford Street in London and is expected to open in a special, unique design in fall 2024.

JD Sports currently has two stores in Munich outside the city center – one in the PEP shopping center and one in the Olympia shopping center.
