JD Sports will open a new flagship store at 118 Champs-Elysées in Paris. Passers-by can already see the stickers that have been affixed by the British retailer on the windows of its new space, previously occupied by Mercedes-Benz. JD Sports is planning to inaugurate the store in March 2024, according to FashionNetwork.com, in time for the Paris 2024 Olympics, which is set to begin in France’s capital city on July 26 next year. The 1,000-square-meter store, on two floors, would be, at present, JD Sports’ second address in Paris, after the one on rue de Rivoli that opened in May 2020, but the retailer’s footfall is continuing to expand. Earlier this year, as reported by Europe, JD Sports took over nine GAP France’s stores, all of which are set to switch to JD Sports by 2024. JD Sports currently operates nearly 150 stores in France.
