Julbo is severing ties with Esportiva Aksa, its partner of many years in the Spanish market, and taking charge of its own distribution in the country. To this end, the French optical brand has hired two executives: Brian Sánchez Vigara and Roger Puig Ventura. Julbo is in addition looking to hire a sales manager for the Basque Country and the Madrid region.
Sánchez Vigara, a former sales executive at Tommy Hilfiger, will be working out of Madrid and serving both as country manager for Spain and as international area manager for South America and Eastern Europe. In the latter post he will be coordinating distributors in Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Chile and Colombia as well as in Poland, Bulgaria, Slovenia, the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic.
Puig Ventura, a former semi-professional cyclist who most recently represented the Salewa brand for the Oberalp Group, will be serving as account manager for Catalonia, with oversight of points of sale for the optical and sports segment.
Julbo took over its distribution in Scandinavia last September. The brand already works directly in the DACH region of Europe, Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium. In Italy, where it took over the distribution from the Oberalp Group three years ago, it has just appointed two new reps for specific territories.
