The Oberalp Group will take over the distribution of Falke and Burlington for the Italian market from January 2021, raising the number of distributed brands to nine. It may also obtain the distribution of these two brands of socks in other European countries. Founded in 1981 by Heiner Oberrauch, the group distributes Speedo, Under Armour, Smith, X-Bionic and X-Socks, Fischer, Barts and Spyder, mainly in Italy, but some of the brands are also sold by Oberalp in other European markets where it has sales subsidiaries. In addition, the group owns, develops and sells internationally the brands Salewa, Dynafit, Pomoca, Wild Country, Evolv and LaMunt. It employs a total of around 700 people. Another part of the Oberrauch family operates a big sports retail chain, Sportler, with stores in Northern Italy and Western Austria.
