According to Diffusion Sport, Padel Nuestro intends to more than double its retail footprint in the padel tennis market. To its existing 35 points of sale, the Spanish group plans to add 12 own stores, six franchises and 20 Padel Nuestro Express shops. If all goes well, the endeavor should push the total beyond 70 by the end of the financial year. The latest opening has taken place in the Sicilian city of Syracuse, where a 60-square-meter store – the second in Italy, after the one opened in Rome in 2016 – will carry the padel tennis products of such brands as Siux, Bullpadel, Nox and Head. It will also include a Women Power section for women’s padel products. The Italian opening comes fresh from Padel Nuestro’s entry into Scandinavian market, taking advantage of a sudden boom in the sport that has been taking place in Sweden. By opening a store in the Swedish city of Helsingborg, the group has become the first Spanish sports retailer to venture into the Nordic countries. Meanwhile, it has also opened a 400-square-meter logistics center in the Italian city of Bologna, expanding on a similar center it operates in Montpellier, France. Speaking to Diffusion Sport, Padel Nuestro’s CEO, Ismael Cancho, has projected padel-related revenues of €20 million to €21 million for this year. The company does business in other sectors as well.
