Dutch brand Protest Sportswear has signed a distribution agreement with Whiteland, a Canadian sportswear distributor headquartered in Montréal with warehouses in Montréal, New York State and California. The partnership will expand Protest’s reach in both the U.S. and Canada.

As the Protest brand has been very successful both in the Netherlands and abroad, the expansion of the brand to North America is a logical step. Wesley van Wijnbergen, managing director of Protest Sportswear: “The U.S. and Canada are two new markets where we have high expectations. In Whiteland, we found the right partner. The partnership will allow our collection to be available in a variety of stores across both the U.S. and Canada in addition to online.”

Whiteland is a distributor for several sportswear brands and carries Liquid, Kamik and Quintsoul, among others. Vincent Patry, GM at Whiteland, commented, “We see huge potential in North America for Protest to reach and introduce new customers to this brand. We will be targeting specialized surf, ski and snowboard retailers with strong market influence.”

Protest launches a new collection twice a year. The summer collection includes bikinis and swim shorts, summer apparel and a SUP/surf collection for women. The winter collection includes winter sportswear for men and women. With the addition of the outdoor, streetwear and cycling collections, Protest has a diverse range of clothing that makes the brand relevant all year round.
