Russell Athletic is returning to Spain, after a few years’ absence, with a sell-in for the Iberian Peninsula for spring/summer 2023, according to CMDsport. The brand’s distributor, Proged, is working up a marketing campaign for this year’s collection, which, under the Eagle R line, veers toward streetwear for 16- to 25-year-old men and women. The other line, Sport, consists of traditional sportswear. The distributor and brand are providing buyers with physical samples to examine. Unlike many other brands, Russell has run into relatively little supply-chain trouble of late because most of its manufacturing occurs outside China, in India and Pakistan.

Founded in the U.S. in 1902, Russell Athletic was the inventor of cotton sweats back in the 1930s. It has since gone on to collaborate with Kith, Bape and Hugo Boss. Proged was founded in 1989 and distributes Converse, Asics, Cat and Keen.
