Sprinter has just inaugurated a 925-square-meter store at the Atalaya del Tormes shopping mall in Salamanca and will soon open a new 750-square-meter store in Alicante on Oct. 20. More openings are planned in the Spanish island of Lanzarote, in the Canary Islands, for November, as well as in Pontevedra, Barcelona (Glòries and Vilanova i la Geltrù) and Madrid (Plaza Norte 2) for December, Palco 23 reported. The new stores are creating 140 jobs. The retail footprint of Sprinter, which operates in Spain through the Iberian Sports Retail Group (ISRG), in which JD Sports and Sonae hold stakes, is expected to reach 206 stores by the end of the year.
