Adidas has opened a Home Of Sport concept store in Mumbai on Linking Road with a retail space of 585 sqm over four floors, according to LinkedIn. The store has the first ever “Run Lab” in India, offers a “Made for you” zone where customers can co-create designs in collaboration with local artists and the store team, features an exclusive women’s category, an Originals shop-in-shop and the first-ever Y-3 shop-in-shop in Mumbai.
Adidas first entered India in 1989 through a license agreement with Bata. The company’s second entry into India was in 1996 through a joint venture with Magnum International Trading Company Ltd. In 2016, Adidas received approval from the Indian government to open 100 percent foreign-owned stores. The very first Adidas flagship in the country was opened in the capital, New Delhi, in 2021.
