According to the Financial Times, Amazon aims to include a new discount section on its app’s homepage with products from Chinese warehouses that can be delivered to shoppers in nine to 11 days. The news comes as Amazon faces intensifying competition from Chinese e-commerce platforms like Temu and Shein.

The new discount section would include unbranded goods that sell for less than $20 an item, weigh less than 450 grams and are not edible or liquids. Amazon plans to roll out the offering in the autumn, with merchants enlisted starting this summer. News of Amazon’s new scheme was first reported by The Information, citing slides shown to Chinese sellers that the Financial Times has also reportedly seen.
