JD Sports’ refurbished store in London Stratford has achieved the retailer’s highest turnover and footfall across its portfolio worldwide. The store was expanded to 2,700 square meters in April, making it JD’s biggest outlet globally. Since then, sales at Stratford have outstripped iconic locations, including London’s Oxford Street, Times Square in New York, Liverpool and Dublin, said the retailer. The refurbished store attracted more than 60,000 customers in its first week of opening.
According to JD Sports, the store features a new design and retail concept that reflect the retailer’s approach to omnichannel retailing and “sets the global standard for future openings.” The store houses digital screens and 205 square meters of LED paneling to offer digital interactivity and an immersive experience.
JD Sports has an international network of around 3,300 stores in more than 30 countries.
