The multi-sport retailer continues its expansion with a new Basketball Emotion location, building on its European growth strategy that includes last year’s acquisition of Italy’s The Pitch Football Store.
Sports Emotion has opened a seventh store for basketball, under the Basketball Emotion banner, in Vitoria-Gasteiz, capital of Spain’s Basque Country.
Sources within the company tell Diffusion Sport that this store opening establishes the group as “Spain’s foremost online and retail operator in this vertical.” They went on to say that Sport Emotion’s acquisition last year in Italy of The Pitch Football Store – through the acquisition of Free Time Management Group, from Fanatics – serves as a watershed in the company’s history, The Pitch having been until then Italy’s largest specialist retailer in football. “Today Fútbol Emotion’s leadership in football is not just national but European.”
Fútbol Emotion is, of course, one of Sport Emotion’s three banners. The third is Running Emotion, introduced last summer.
