Richard (Dick) Kazmaier died of a heart and lung disease in Boston on Aug. 1. He was 82 years old. The former college football champion formed, in 1975, Kazmaier Associates, a company that acted as a distributor for Puma in the U.S. for many years. He also served as chief executive of Bike Athletic. Kazmaier was a chairman of the U.S. Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association (SGMA) and acted as chairman of the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) between 1998 and 1999, but decided not to run for a second term due to a disagreement with its management at the time. He led the National Football Foundation and other institutions in the U.S.
