Luigi Carraro, president of the International Padel Federation (FIP), Gilles Moreton, president of the French Tennis Federation (FFT), and Arnaud Di Pasquale, director of Greenweez Paris Premier Padel Major, presented on June 3 at the Roland Garros Stadium in Paris the first edition of the Paris Premier Padel Major. The new tournament, the biggest for padel ever celebrated in France, will take place on July 11-17 at the Roland Garros Stadium, the legendary French Open tennis tournament venue. First announced on April 2, the event will be broadcast to a global audience by media companies including ESPN, Sky, Viaplay, SuperSport and – in France – beIN Sports. Premier Padel will host at least ten new tournaments in 2022. The first major – the Ooredoo Qatar Major 2022 – took place in Doha in March. The other category one tournaments in the circuit are the Italy Premier Padel Major, which was held at Rome’s Foro Italico on May 21-29, the upcoming Paris Premier Padel Major at Roland Garros in July, and the Mexico Premier Padel Major at the Club Sonoma in Monterrey, México from November 28 to December 4. Premier Padel is governed by FIP and backed by the Professional Padel Association (PPA) and Qatar Sports Investments.
