Rottefella has appealed the Oslo district court's judgment in the matter of claims against Amer Sports Norway. Rottefella claims violations of marketing regulations, product copying and violations of intellectual property rights in connection with Salomon's launch of its Pro Link cross-country ski bindings earlier this year. On July 13, the Oslo District Court ruled in favor of Amer Sports. In an interview with Sportsbransjen, the Norwegian sporting goods industry association, Christer Johnsen, president of Rottefella explained that his company is both very disappointed and strongly disagrees with the court's decision. In particular, Rottefella believes it is wrong to invalidate patents that are already recognized by a number of patent offices internationally, and thus protected outside of Norway. Rottefella has therefore asked the Norwegian appellate court to reconsider the case.
