Runners Point's sales surged by 20.9 percent in the first six months of this year, with a 14.4 percent increase on a same-store basis. E-commerce was a major driver, up by 87.2 percent to €11.6 million for the period. Sidestep, the German sporting goods retailer's sports lifestyle chain, booked increases of 35.6 percent on an absolute basis and 16.2 percent on a comparable store basis. The opening of new stores has been another growth factor for the group, which is up for sale, as previously reported. Its 200th store was opened a few days ago. Eight new stores were opened in the first six months and six more are set to follow in Germany and Austria before the year-end.
