Sales grew by 60.3 percent at Li-Ning in the first half of the fiscal year, rising to 3.06 billion Chinese yuan (€311m-$446.8m). The spurt helped profits soar by 68.0 percent to CNY 333.7 million (€33.9m-$48.7m). In the six months ended June 30, the gross margin was down by 0.4 percentage points to 48.4 percent. The company’s branded footwear sales expanded by 82 percent to CNY 1.39 billion (€141.3m-$202.9m). Its Z-DO brand and its license with Aigle made up 1.9 percent of revenues. With 717 stores opened in the half, Li-Ning now has 6,393 stores.
