Sales in the U.K. cycling market have dropped by 4.8 percent in volume in the first half of 2019 as compared to the first half of 2018. Meanwhile, value sales are only down by 0.5 percent. The figures are included in the first U.K. cycling market data service by Sports Marketing Surveys (SMS) and The Bicycle Association (BA), based on more than 650 cycling stores across the country, and include an estimated 35 percent of the market by value. The BA is planning to reach 70 percent of market coverage by the end of the first year. The data cover a large range of cycling equipment and services, from bikes and e-bikes to parts, accessories and clothing, repair services, and more.
